Challenge Description

Say goodbye (or good riddance) to everyone you know and love.

Three different installation files (Windows, Linux and MacOS) were provided to the participants.

Process of solving the Challenge

Install the application depending on your operating system. Once the app is installed this is what is shown when running the app.

Clicking on the show button will display a cute image of baby yoda!

Investigating further into the files installed by the app we can see that this is an electron app.

Electron is a framework built upon nodejs and chromium which is what chrome web browser uses too. Therefore, we can most likely open the web dev tools on an electron app too.

A quick google search lets us know what are the keys to open the dev tools windows on your respective operating systems.

The description in the app tells us to look for the shiny knob which baby yoda’s favourite play thing! Trying our luck we can type it in the console.

Wow we are really lucky, we have found the shinyKnob()! Proceeding to invoke the command will print the flag we need!

Of course there is a simpler way without luck. We can look at the source!
